Did you know that Benin, formerly called Dahomey, has a textile heritage rich in decorative arts techniques, production of plant raw materials, and weaving techniques passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years?

They were born from local know-how enhanced by exchanges with the sub-region and international traders well before the time of the colonies.

I created Atelier VO in 2020 to answer a question that customers in our concept store, Le Vestiaire Original, were asking me:

"- Where can we find simple and elegant Beninese cotton clothing that can be worn every day or for an event, in plain fabric or elegant prints that tell a story and are made in Africa?"

The ATELIER VO clothing range is my proposal and a way to share my view of the beauty of Dahomean clothing style.
